After yesterday's good news it's damn near impossible for me to focus at work. I took an hour of personal time to appreciate the weather, which I imagine will be a trend over the final 2 1/2 weeks.
My left knee was/is bothering me but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to ride. I'll take a break tomorrow and try to fit in additional stretching at work. These legs are important, need to take better care of them it seems.
Lost my second rear light in a month. The damn thing bounced off my bike for no particular reason and then, in the style of Wonderyears, a Lexus crushed it as I watched helpless from the curb. I swear people aim for those damn things when they see me staring hopelessly. This happened in precisely the same manner last spring, but I believe the offender was driving a jaguar. I think the solution is either going to be adding a tonne of reflective tape to my bag, or making/buying another blinker and sewing it in place. I still like biking in the city. Last Friday I biked home from NU at 1AM, spooky! So far I haven't been doored, rammed, or t-boned but it has only been two months since I've been here. I'll keep my fingers crossed. It really is nice to live and ride in a place where so many other people are doing it. I find it keeps me getting in the saddle just knowing other people are out there riding harder than I am.
I think it would be fun to try a dualthon, or triathalon. I could definitely keep running over the winter ( there is a track across the street at Tufts) but I have no idea how I when or where I would practice swimming. I certainly seem to lean more to being lean and fast than large and strong. When I have time to exercise that is. hmmm
Speaking of time, I am taking a break from Overtime for a week or two. Or three. Getting home before 4 is damn addictive.

Re: Temporary Positions available in ISD GALE program
We, in AIT HR, are in the process of recruiting a few individuals to work on a specific phased project for the GALE program in the Intelligent Systems Division. We are communicating with various universities and community organizations for these contract assignments; however, we are hoping that AIT employees might also be able to suggest potential candidates who might be interested in the opportunity.
We need individuals who
are bi-lingual in English and Mandarin, or English and Arabic. The positions are
for a specific period (ASAP-to-April 2008, for up to 10-20 hours per
week. The individuals must be available to come to the Burlington office for some of those hours,
but much of the work can also be done from a home location. The
individuals must be either United States
Citizens or Permanent Residents of the United States.
I have attached the positions for further details of the work and the skills required.
These are not “employee referral bonus eligible, but we are hopeful that you might be able to help us fill these important temporary positions. Please feel free to forward this information to any family, academic, community, or social organizations that you feel would be appropriate.
Interested individuals should send a resume and statement of interest to me at ______________
Again, I appreciate any help or wisdom you can provide.
Sincerely,
Rande
Spent today debugging our software on site. Managed to get things working despite co-contractors typical slipshod design. Why define interfaces if you're not going to ever follow them  . Got a tour of a hawkeye. I am dead tired.
